Scot Hall, the Founder of PickMyCarBrain, professionally has 35 plus years of consumer automotive experience both in retail and corporate environments. From an educational perspective, he holds a business degree from the University of Cincinnati. Personally, he is the epitome of a “Car-Guy” and those who know him best say that he always has been. Scot has owned and leased more than 50 vehicles in his Gen-X lifetime.  

Professionally, Scot has held numerous roles across departments at various dealerships with many at a management level. Additionally, he has been at the helm of Swapalease an online service specializing in automotive lease transfers and lease buyouts across the country. The nationwide service has common ownership with a large midwestern automotive dealership group. Having a strong foothold in both retail automotive through the dealer group and online automotive through Swapalease equates to a unique industry perspective and substantial knowledge base. 

PickMyCarBrain is primarily the result of the numerous consumer automotive sessions Scot had with friends and family unofficially throughout the years. These sessions clearly demonstrated that many had questions as well as reservations about the consumer automotive process. Moreover, they appreciated being able to bounce questions off someone not directly involved with the deal. The sessions also demonstrated the communication value of a standard conversation in contrast to other methods of sharing information. 

Other factors played a role in the formation of PickMyCarBrain, as well. Contributing factors including, increasing vehicle transaction prices, limited inventory availability, and a challenging credit market. All three of these factors can make buying or leasing a vehicle more difficult as well as more expensive for automotive consumers. 

Scot believed that this combination of higher costs and greater complexity in a market that was historically perceived as difficult meant that automotive consumers needed a service they could go to for help. A service that could be trusted for accurate information and honest assessments from a disinterested party deal perspective. PickMyCarBrain was created to directly address this consumer automotive need and to ultimately make purchasing or leasing one’s next vehicle a more pleasant experience.
